Dr. Starling is a board certified neurologist and headache specialist at the Mayo Clinic, AZ, where she studies underlying pathophysiology, establishes clinical phenotypes, and is exploring novel therapeutics.
As a regular participant in clinical trials she has a special interest in exploring nondrug options for migraine, including neuromodulation devices, and is developing a human research model of post-traumatic headaches that will allow for the investigation of underlying pathophysiology and the development of objective biomarkers.
Dr. Starling is very active in advocacy and is involved with organizations such as Miles for Migraine, Headache on the Hills, and the American Migraine Foundation. She has a particular interest in exploring tools and techniques that can be used by providers to incorporate advocacy into clinical practice.
